Dr. Jonathan Kreissler is a board-certified veterinary internist and a Diplomate of the American College of Internal Medicine in Small Animal Internal Medicine. He provides specialist consultations for patients with complex acute and chronic medical disorders. Dr. Kreissler has attained an advanced knowledge base and procedural skills, and is therefore a valuable resource for you and your primary veterinarian to provide an optimal diagnostic and treatment plan for your pet.
UNIVERSITY AND POST-DOCTORAL TRAINING
Dr. Kreissler is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a four-year Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2003. Following graduation, he completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine & Surgery at VCA Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado, and a challenging, fast-paced Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City, the largest postgraduate veterinary teaching institution in the world. This unique residency program provided exposure to a substantial and diverse caseload, and collaboration among a large group of specialists with varied interests and talents.
Following his Residency, Dr. Kreissler entered private practice in the United States. He is active in continuing education presentations for regional veterinarians, and has served as a media contact. Dr. Kreissler is also involved in house officer training, and is proud to see several interns admitted to residency programs. Dr. Kreissler believes in the importance of effective communication and cooperation with all stakeholders in the veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR). Dr. Kreissler is therefore cognizant of the role of the patient’s family, primary veterinarian, and other specialists in maximizing the delivery of quality care.
Dr. Kreissler has a particular interest in urology, ENT, and acute medicine, and offers an advanced diagnostic medicine service that is equipped with modalities such as high-resolution ultrasound, high-definition endoscopy, fluoroscopy, multi-slice computed tomography (CAT scan), and MRI to compliment his extensive knowledge base in complex medical disorders. He is skilled in the use of minimally invasive techniques which can facilitate a rapid diagnosis while minimizing recovery time for your pet. These techniques include ultrasound- or CT-guided biopsy acquisition, laparoscopy, and endoscopy, cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy and more.
